I am about to get a new phone so I can use Pocket Genealogist to put my RM3 database on the phone.

My question is - am I correct in assuming RM4 will work with the current version of Pocket Genealogist?? And should I buy the basic or the advanced version of Pocket Genealogist?

I am very excited about RM4, and all my genealogy friends know it!

Hello, I don't know whether this is the right place to make a suggestion, as I've only just found this board - and had no idea a RootsMagic 4 was going to be released (soon?).

I like using the Individual Summary and Narrative Report features, but have found a little bug which maybe could be fixed?

It occurs following an import from a GEDCOM file: after about 140 characters of Notes (i.e. one line of GEDCOM text) when the line is concatonated (I think that's the word!). If the word is broken onto two lines, there is no problem - but if a whole word is followed by a space, RootsMagic joins the word and the next together.

This must be fixable somehow, as The Complete Genealogy Reporter doesn't create this problem - but I don't find that Report as attractive or versatile as RM.

Editing an RM report is one solution, but time-consuming. The other problem with this is that the .rtf version of the Individual Summary report is nowhere near as attractive as the .pdf version - though I would suggest that the lines which separate sections could be a little better spaced. Maybe there are plans for the user to have even greater control over layouts, as well as sentence construction and other new features?

Having flirted with the attractive, but inflexible Family Tree Maker 2008, and battled with the complexities of The Master Genealogist, I have "come home" to RootsMagic, my first choice, many years ago.

I look forward to the new version of RootsMagic, but following the FTM 2008 early-release fiasco last year, I can understand any caution surrounding the timing! (Maybe you're also waiting to see what FTM 2009 contains - sorry, a bit cheeky?!!)

Oh, talking of whom, something else they have failed to include again: an All-In-One Tree. Are there any plans for this in RootsMagic 4...?? (Apologies if others have already requested this.)

Best wishes, and keep up the good work.

This is totally AWESOME! I have hoped for the ability to customize sentences for quite some time. Thank you, Bruce!

At least a dozen more features to highlight. Honestly don't know if my heart can take it. (However, I'm REALLY hoping for a "Fall present" rather than a "Christmas present... Maybe September 15th? Please, please, please.)
