  1. I have been using RootsMagic for years. You have always been patient and kind when I needed tech support (years ago). I love this software and never want to go back to my old program. You make genealogy enjoyable, informative, and a goal easily reached. I would still like to store documentation within the program however;) it never seems to find all the documents when I need to replace my aging computer. I really don’t like the little red X’s for documents it can’t seem to find. Thank you for sharing all of the tips, lessons, and encoragement.

  2. Darn, I don’t see what I would like to see most on your resolution list for 2014: a Mac version. Crossover has been nice to use but it’s not the same as the ‘real thing’. Guess I have to keep waiting…but I will be one of the first to pounce on it when it happens. 😉
Thanks for your ongoing development, keeping prices reasonable and all the helpful support with the tutorials, etc., and for avoiding the greed and elitism that others have succumbed to by setting up paid ‘membership’ options. Good luck in 2014!

  3. Often, when we see a product advertized and purchase it, it will dissappoint. That is NOT the case with Roots Magic. From the first day I started using your product in 2004, I have been more than satisfied. During the ensuing years, your constant updates and improvements to the system have been a delight. Your on-line support is superb and the value received for the dollar spent is well worth it! Keep up the good work – you deserve all the awards you receive!

  4. TI love the product and ordered a copy for my son In Minnesota. I really like being able to check familysearch while I working on an individual. One click and there is the information I wanted. Keep it up

  5. You’ve been promising a Mac version for quite a while. I’m with J Rose – eagerly awaiting it; hoping it might be in your “other platforms” goal for 2014. This is the best genealogy program ever!

  6. I have been using Roots Magic since version 4 came out. What a great software program, I love the complete package and use it about two hours a day. I really like the split screen feature where I can compare what I have with that which is found in the L.D.S. Family Tree database. The online tutorials are great and now that they are being indexed it is even better. The contact by phone is another great feature, keep it up your personal assistance is greatly appreciated. The updates are very easy to install and the new feature of potential error problems gave me a chance to take care of some much needed problems. Roots Magic is the best genealogical software I have ever used thanks to the entire staff.

  7. Love the PC version.. Would really love to have an apple version.. Little by little, we’re switching from pc to mac.. And i’ve bought FTM for Mac & MacFamilyTree.. Both very nice, but I like RootsMagic better.. I don’t care for running the pc version on my mac, I tried it, but no..

  8. Although brand new to RootsMagic, I am encouraged by your awards and hope to be able to improve my genealogical search by using your software. My PAF files are relatively large (over 65,000 individuals and 20,000 marriages) and I need good software to navigate and find new family members. I have hopes that you will be able to fulfill my needs. Thank you.

  9. I purchased RootsMagic in 2013 after years of using familysearch PAF. I experimented with numerous online tree builders but they always came up short, in my opinion. RM has solved most of my problems and it’s very easy to use. Tks much and keep up the good work.

  10. I love Roots Magic. However, I am one of those eagerly waiting for the MAC version! I had hopes it would be this year. Otherwise, I think it is great! It would be so much easier to use it without having to go through Parallels first!

  11. I am a typical parent and grandparent. I want what is best for my children and grandchildren. As an example of this, I am in the process of ordering beginner telescopes for each of my grandchildren. And for each of my children, I have ordered a copy of Roots Magic 6. They may not show as much enthusiasm for this adventure as I have enjoyed, but I suspect that once they try Roots Magic and see how easily it accepts the information they enter, that I will have just enlisted a whole new army of researchers with whom I will be able to share my most intimate family details.
Thanks for creating such an impressive tool that has taught me more about myself than I have ever learned any other way.

  12. I was hoping like J Rose that Mac would allow Roots Magic to come on board.

I am always being asked, when is it coming. Bruce says soon, but it doesn’t look like it. 🙁

THANKS FOR A SUPER GREAT PROGRAM!!!

  13. We started using your program when it began as Family Origins and when circumstances dictated and you changed to Roots Magic we followed. We have assisted others with their “other” genealogy programs but have found none as easy to use with all the options as your programs. We have had the opportunity to meet and talk with Bruce and encourage he and his group to continue associated developments.

  14. I was lucky in the fact that when I bought my first computer used one it already had Family Origins on it so after I called the main company to remove the previous owners name & acct. numbers from the computer as the man had died & his wife didn’t know anything about computers so she couldn’t remove anything. To make a long story short I started using Family Origins & when it was changed to Roots Magic I followed. My children have tried to get me to change to other genealogy programs but I said no I am sticking with Roots Magic so just leave me alone. I like how easy it is to work with. My only problem is a good one just when I think I have everyone in the program someone else decides to have another baby so then I have to add another person & it keeps growing every yr. But that is a nice problem. Now that I am retired I think I will be able to work on it more & go back farther instead of just going forward.
