{"id":297,"date":"2008-12-16T15:10:33","date_gmt":"2008-12-16T22:10:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.rootsmagic.com\/?p=297"},"modified":"2008-12-17T20:04:07","modified_gmt":"2008-12-18T03:04:07","slug":"rootsmagic-4-unwrapped-sources-have-them-your-way","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.rootsmagic.com\/?p=297","title":{"rendered":"RootsMagic 4 Unwrapped &#8211; Sources&#8230; Have them your way"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sorry&#8230; got carried away fixing bugs again.<\/p>\n<p>In our last episode I promised that there was a little more I wanted to mention about the new SourceWizard in RootsMagic 4. \u00a0We told you that the new SourceWizard supported Evidence!, Evidence Explained, Cite Your Sources, and the Evidence QuickSheet. \u00a0Several readers were concerned about whether our source templates would be slanted towards US sources, or UK sources, or Canadian sources, or whatever.<\/p>\n<p>So what way do RootsMagic 4 source templates slant? \u00a0Any way you want them to. \u00a0That&#8217;s right, in addition to the built-in templates you can now create your own custom source templates.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.rootsmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/rmsourcetemplate.png\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-303 alignnone\" title=\"Source Template Editor\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.rootsmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/rmsourcetemplate.png\" alt=\"Source Template Editor\" width=\"275\" height=\"190\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now don&#8217;t let that screen scare you. \u00a0To create a source template you just add the fields you want RootsMagic to ask for, then tell RootsMagic how to put those fields together to make the footnote, short footnote, and bibliography. \u00a0Yes, the template language is very powerful, but it isn&#8217;t overly complicated.<\/p>\n<p>And don&#8217;t worry if you aren&#8217;t the type of person who would normally venture into creating a custom template. \u00a0I suspect there are some RootsMagic users who would be happy to help you create a template just the way you want.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sorry&#8230; got carried away fixing bugs again.
