Welcome to 2011! \u00a0With 2010\u00a0in the rear-view mirror<\/a>, let’s look ahead to 2011 and\u00a0some of our goals and resolutions for the coming year.<\/p>\n

We’re\u00a0determined to build upon the tremendous growth we’ve experienced\u00a0over the past few years. In 2011, we’ll provide more free\u00a0updates, product upgrades, and even a few new surprises. It’s\u00a0too early to spill the beans on all that we have cooking in our\u00a0kitchen but watch this blog or our\u00a0e-mail\u00a0newsletter<\/a> for announcements.<\/p>\n

More Contact<\/h2>\n

We’ve always tried to be accessible\u00a0and in touch with our users as much as possible. We offer\u00a0free phone<\/a> support<\/a> with live people, e-mail\u00a0support<\/a>, and a message board<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We travel to conferences and\u00a0events to meet with people face-to-face. We teach\u00a0classes and coordinate user\u00a0groups<\/a> to help our users better use the software.<\/p>\n

But with the tremendous growth that we’ve experienced in the\u00a0past few years, maintaining this level of support and contact has\u00a0been- at times- challenging. One of our goals for 2011 is to\u00a0make our lines of contact with our users even better- especially\u00a0with those that, due to their location or circumstances, aren’t\u00a0able to meet with us at a conference, class, or user\u00a0group.<\/p>\n

In a perfect\u00a0world, we would personally sit down with every RootsMagic user in\u00a0their homes. Since we just haven’t gotten the cloning\u00a0process down well enough to do that yet, we’re doing the next best\u00a0thing. We are going to start offering free\u00a0online RootsMagic classes, also known as\u00a0“webinars”. You will be able to sit at your computer and\u00a0watch as we present classes on everything from getting\u00a0started with RootsMagic to advanced features like\u00a0creating custom reports, and everything in between. We’ll\u00a0also be able to answer questions from attendees.<\/p>\n

Each\u00a0class will be limited to the first 1000 people to sign up, but\u00a0if you miss out or can’t make it, don’t worry because we will\u00a0record the class for you to download and watch later. So keep\u00a0an eye out for the January newsletter where we will provide all the\u00a0details on how to sign up for these free classes. \u00a0We’d also like to know more about what\u00a0you would like to learn and when are the best times to hold the\u00a0webinars. We’ve set up a short survey so that you can let us\u00a0know your needs.<\/p>\n
