Did something special happen in late 2022?
It seems like the Rootsmagic team swallowed some magic beans and, since then, the speed at which new features and bug fixes have been deployed has noticeably increased.
If you asked me “what do you think about Rootsmagic?” five years ago I would have replied cynically “They are the best of a bad bunch.” Nowadays, when I think “RootsMagic” I smile. Congratulations on the release of a new version. Thank you for a product that is clearly value for money.
I’m especially excited about the ability to copy facts, the more flexible search, and applying the Leads method to sort DNA matches. I’ve done the Leads method manually to sort DNA relatives by each of my grandparents and great grandparents, but it sounds really nice to be able to do that in software.
RootsMagic are really the best genealogy software that you can get. Think about it and it does it. I use them since version 6 and I do my best to upgrade as quick as possible. Version 9 gave us the opportunity to add friends in our tree and now the 10 help us quicker in the new search engine. I love the way Famillysearch merge easy to our tree.
Malgré le fait que RootsMagic soit en anglais, il demeure très facile d’utilisation. Je l’utilise depuis la version 6 (2012) et à chaque nouvelle version, je suis impressionné par leurs progrès. D’un simple clique, il ajoute vos trouvailles de famillySearch. Vous pouvez même ajouter vos amis et leurs arbres dans la même base de donnée. Essayez-le et vous ne le regretterai pas j’en suis certain.
I love the new version! But I still long for a vertical tree mode!!! You can get to your cousins lines but it would be so much easier with a full tree to navigate ????

Does RootsMagic 10 operate under Windows 10 – as a retiree am unlikely to upgrade to Windows 11 so need to know if I can even run RootsMagic 10.

Can I jump from ver: 8 to 10 or would I have to start all over?
Reply: The RM8 version will open in RM10. It will then convert the file. Make a backup of the file before converting it.
