RootsMagic is pleased to be a sponsor of the 42nd Annual Southern California Genealogy Jamboree to be held June 10-12, 2011 in the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel, 2500 Hollywood Way, Burbank, California.
If you live in the area, be sure to come by and see us in the exhibit hall or attend one of our classes taught by the RootsMagician himself, Bruce Buzbee.
But if you don’t live near by, we wanted to bring the experience of the Jamboree to you! Through a special sponsorship provided by RootsMagic, several Jamboree sessions will be available at no cost to genealogists and family historians around the globe. We’ve had a tremendous response to our own free online classes (webinars) and saw the opportunity to use similar technology to bring the Jamboree experience to people around the world. This means that you can enjoy presentations from some of the top speakers in the genealogical community for free, right from the comfort of your own home!

If you do happen to live in the Los Angeles area and would like to attend the jamboree in person, more information is available at http://www.scgsgenealogy.com/2011jam-home.htm.
We hope to see you there or online!
Thank you for posting this. I was able to register for the classes I’ll have time to watch. What a wonderful offering of classes to us who can’t attend Jamboree.
I’m not going to be able to watch the programs on the 11th as we’ll be flying to Oregon from Ohio. Will the sessions be available by download at a later date like the RM Webinars?
Is there, in the future, going to be any sessions on Canadian genealogy, as in the United Empire Loyalists?
Thank you so much for offering this wonderful opportunity to see & hear these marvelous speakers! Next to being there in person!

Sounds like a great opportunity – but the registration page freezes when I click register and doesn’t accept the information in the form (for two different classes).
This is a wonderful opportunity to participate in the conference without making the trip to L.A. I am in awe of the support offered by RootsMagic and have watched about 13 of their webinars. I love the RM genealogy program. Thank you.
Will u be recording these livestream sessions? Converting times to my timezone means I would be up through the early hours of the day (1am for first topic) which I doubt I could handle…..
I hope you will record these webinars so that those of us who can’t commit to Saturday’s hours can view them at a later time.
It is wonderful of you to offer this opportunity.
Love that RootsMagic Hollywood sign. Can’t wait to hear the speakers. No problem here registering or adding it to my Outlook Calendar.
Several people have asked if these classes will be recorded / archived like our webinars. Unlike our webinars, these classes are being held during the SCGS Jamboree and therefore they will be the ones who record / archive them. That means that the recordings will only be available for SCGS members on their website. Our sponsorship is for the free live streaming of the classes.
The service and staff of RootsMagic are always the best. Now, you have even gone further to bring genealogy techniques to more people. Bravo!
I attended the Jamboree and I will also watch the recorded sessions. Thanks so much for all you do.
I to would like to know about the Canadian genealogy, but I do love the Webinars.
